Volleyball Recap: Shepard Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Shepard was the 2-1 winner over Lemont when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Astros took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lemont HS on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15.

Shepard's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4. As for Lemont, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Shepard will challenge Hillcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lemont, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Lincoln-Way East on the 17th.
