Softball Recap: Timberline Has No Trouble Against Lincoln

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Timberline). They put the hurt on the Lincoln Abes with a sharp 23-1 victory on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Porsha Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Haagen, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Haagen is also crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Leovi Meno-Meyers, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Timberline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Timberline's record is now 4-0. As for Lincoln, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Timberline will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Peninsula at 4:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Mount Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
