Volleyball Recap: Mesa Ridge Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Mesa Ridge won the last time they faced Widefield, and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mesa Ridge Grizzlies blew past the Widefield Gladiators 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-19.

Bailey Hummer paced Mesa Ridge's offense, picking up six kills. Hummer got some help from Lehua Scott-Mendez and her nine assists. Scott-Mendez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the defeat, Widefield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Janae Johnson had nine digs.

Mesa Ridge pushed their record up to 11-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Widefield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.
