Softball Recap: Larimore Polar Bears vs. Thompson Tommies

Larimore couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell victim to a rough 26-4 loss at the hands of the Thompson Tommies on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Larimore in their matchups with Thompson: they've now lost nine in a row.

For Thompson's part, Sydney Schwabe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Schwabe has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Schwabe was even better at the plate, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
