Baseball Game Preview: Columbus Cardinals vs. Tidehaven Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Columbus Cardinals face off against Tidehaven Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Columbus is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Columbus fell victim to Tidehaven and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

For Tidehaven's part, RITCHIE ZGARCIA made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts ZGARCIA has posted over his last six matches. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, ASHTON KLAIBER was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was TRISTAN GALVAN, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

With the victory, Tidehaven broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-3-1. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
