Soccer Recap: John Battle Comes Up Short

After flying high against Richlands last Friday, John Battle came back down to earth. The Trojans fell 3-1 to the Union Bears on Tuesday. John Battle have struggled against Union recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

John Battle's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Union, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Battle will host Gate City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gate City will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something John Battle surely won't give up without a fight. As for Union, they will square off against Volunteer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union's defense better be ready for this one: Volunteer have averaged an impressive 5.5 goals per game this season.
