Baseball Recap: Petersburg Comes Up Short

After flying high against Braxton County on Friday, Petersburg came back down to earth. The Vikings took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Harrison Hawks on Saturday. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Vikings who fell 3-1 when the teams previously met back in April.

Petersburg's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 19-7. As for South Harrison, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-13.

Petersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Harrison, they have already played their next contest, a 12-3 victory against Cameron on the 21st.
