McCutcheon never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past the North Newton Spartans 14-0. Considering the Mavericks have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for McCutcheon, bringing their record up to 9-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Newton, they moved to 13-2-1 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

McCutcheon has already played their next game, a 10-9 defeat against Kankakee Valley on the 13th. As for North Newton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-10 loss against Washington Township on the 12th.
