Basketball Game Preview: Oak Hall Eagles vs. P.K. Yonge Blue Wave

Oak Hall hasn't had much luck against P.K. Yonge recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will challenge the Blue Wave at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Oak Hall blew Bronson out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Bronson got their revenge. Oak Hall fell just short of Bronson by a score of 29-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Oak Hall has suffered since January 23, 2025.

Oak Hall's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alexis Thur De Koos, who posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Kate Colburn, who scored eight points and four steals. Colburn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, P.K. Yonge ended up a good deal behind Eastside on Saturday and lost 40-25. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Wave in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

Oak Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for P.K. Yonge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

Oak Hall and P.K. Yonge were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2025, but Oak Hall came up empty-handed after a 21-20 defeat. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
