Football Recap: Trion Falls Despite Big Games from Linc Allen and Landon Kimbell + How To Watch

Trion fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Westbrook Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Bulldogs were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Trion's loss came despite strong showings from Landon Kimbell and Linc Allen. Kimbell gained 149 total yards and three touchdowns, while Allen threw for 287 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes. Allen's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bulldogs' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. A healthy portion of Allen's aerial production (85 yards to be exact) went to Bryson Roberts.

Brody Blevins had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 257 yards and four touchdowns for Westbrook Christian. That's the most rushing touchdowns Blevins has posted since back in October of 2024. Brodey Wood was another key player, rushing for 120 yards and one score.

This is the second loss in a row for Trion and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Westbrook Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Trion will challenge Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Westbrook Christian, they will take on Pennington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
