Football Recap: Morro Bay Pirates vs. Cabrillo Conquistadores
Morro Bay was the 43-21 winner over Cabrillo when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Morro Bay Pirates fell just short of the Cabrillo Conquistadores by a score of 41-39 on Friday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Morro Bay had strong showings from Sands Dougherty, who threw for 401 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and John Myers, who picked up 287 receiving yards and a touchdown. Myers' longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Leading Cabrillo to victory were Blake Gregory and Andre Brisco.
