Softball Recap: Nyack Starts off Right with Win over Edgemont

Nyack had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Edgemont Panthers get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2016.

Not much got past Haley Serrano, who gave up just three hits to keep Edgemont off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maeve O'Donnell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Nyack wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-3 win against Rye on the 1st. As for Edgemont, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Yonkers at 4:30 p.m. on the 9th.
