Football Preview: St. Michael's Warriors vs. Antonian Prep Apaches
After each having a week off, the St. Michael's Warriors and the Antonian Prep Apaches will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Michael's will be strutting in after a victory while Antonian Prep will be coming in after a defeat.
St. Michael's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Andrew's 34-0 at home. The Warriors pushed the score to 31-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Highlanders had no chance of recovering from.
A big part of St. Michael's win came down to the chemistry between Nico Anderson and his top target Pierce Kovacs. Anderson threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns while Kovacs picked up 39 receiving yards and a touchdown. An impressive showing, but Kovacs really ramped things up playing D: he made three total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions.
