Soccer Recap: George Washington Triumphs

George Washington's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Montbello Warriors a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for George Washington, who have now won three matches by seven goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Montbello from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Mira Stambuk led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The victory got George Washington back to even at 3-3-1. As for Montbello, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

George Washington wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 5-0 win against Vista PEAK Prep on the 15th. As for Montbello, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Denver South on the 15th.
