Aniyah Dean was incredible, going 3-for-4 with seven RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carman Garner, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pell City ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Hackleburg 6-5. The win was familiar territory for Pell City, who have now won three games in a row.
Addy Simmons spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nyla Treptau, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kherington Keith, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
St. Clair County pushed their record up to 16-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Pell City, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. St. Clair County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Pell City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
St. Clair County might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Pell City in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will St. Clair County have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
