Basketball Game Preview: McGregor Bulldogs vs. Whitney Wildcats

The McGregor Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Whitney Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitney took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on McGregor, who comes in off a win.

McGregor will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Troy, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. McGregor skirted past Troy 35-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since December 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, Whitney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against West, falling 43-11. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1303rd, while the Trojans are ranked 618th).

The victory got McGregor back to even at 10-10. As for Whitney, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.

Everything came up roses for McGregor against Whitney in their previous meeting on January 3rd, as the team secured a 49-19 win. Does McGregor have another victory up their sleeve, or will Whitney turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
