Basketball Recap: Bath County Comes Up Short

Bath County lost to Russell back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats were beaten by the Red Devils 67-23. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Russell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamryn Fleming, who shot 67% from the field on her way to 13 points and five rebounds. Fleming is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Oborne, who went 5-for-8 en route to 13 points.

Bath County has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Russell, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bath County will host Raceland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Russell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Boyd County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
