Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Pelican Rapids' Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Pelican Rapids had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the Warroad Warriors 61-42 on Thursday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Warriors are ranked 369th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pelican Rapids is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points over those games. Warroad has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-25 record this season.

As of now, neither Pelican Rapids nor Warroad have any future games scheduled.
