Basketball Recap: Smith Center Continues Road Dominance on Friday

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Smith Center's strategy against Ellis on Friday. The Smith Center Redmen came out on top against the Ellis Railroaders by a score of 57-45. The win was nothing new for the Redmen as they're now sitting on three straight.

Smith Center's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Enochs, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. Enochs is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daveyon Orr, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Smith Center was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Railroaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Noble-Heit, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaren Frickey, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 17 points.

Smith Center pushed their record up to 3-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Ellis, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.

Smith Center will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Russell at 7:00 p.m. As for Ellis, they will head out to challenge LaCrosse at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
