Baseball Game Preview: Wayne Badgers vs. Bryce Valley Mustangs

Wayne is 2-8 against Bryce Valley since September of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Badgers will challenge the Mustangs at 9:00 a.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Wayne is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Draper APA a 21-0 shutout. That 21 run margin sets a new team best for the Badgers this season.

Ethan Beecher made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Wayne: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 5-13 otherwise. Beecher was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in August.

Wayne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Draper APA only managed one.

Meanwhile, Bryce Valley came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Marauders 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 13 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Bryce Valley's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Wayne, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Wayne might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Bryce Valley in their previous meeting last Friday. Can the Badgers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
