Baseball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-4. They came up short against the Farmington Knights, falling 15-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Rebels were not able to get on the board.

As for Farmington, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. Considering they have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Farmington's part, Cooper Holmes looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Holmes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Farmington got a massive performance out of Jaxon Tinsley, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Tinsley has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Colby Larkins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Central will head out to face off against North County at 4:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Farmington, they will venture away from home to challenge Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
