Basketball Recap: Sauk Centre Comes Up Short

Sauk Centre lost against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters were dealt a 74-47 defeat at the hands of the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mainstreeters have suffered against the Tigers since February 19, 2021.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Huebner, who posted seven points in addition to ten rebounds and five assists. With that strong performance, Huebner is now averaging an impressive 8 boards per game. Alex Asmus was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Sauk Centre's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Sauk Centre has already played their next matchup (against Spectrum), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 85-61 victory against Benson on the 24th.
