Baseball Recap: Ash Grove Takes a Loss

If Ash Grove was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Jasper on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates lost 12-2 to the Halfway Cardinals on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered since April 25th.

Ty Messley was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ash Grove's loss dropped their record down to 11-11-1. As for Halfway, they pushed their record up to 21-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Ash Grove and Halfway will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Pirates see the field they'll take on Early at 5:30 p.m. on June 3. As for Halfway, their break will end when they face El Dorado Springs at 4:30 p.m. on June 5.
