Basketball Game Preview: Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS vs. Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks

The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will head out on the road to square off against the Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Madeira has 11 straight victories, Cincinnati Country Day has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Madeira got the win against Taylor by a conclusive 51-29. The MUSTANGS/AMAZONS have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati Country Day came up short against Summit Country Day on Wednesday, falling 55-35. While losing is never fun, the Nighthawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 723rd, while the Silver Knights are ranked 337th).

Madeira's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Cincinnati Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Madeira took a serious blow against Cincinnati Country Day in their previous matchup back in January of 2021, falling 66-37. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Madeira was down 40-17.
