Basketball Recap: Haines City Comes Up Short

Haines City played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Discovery Spartans and fell 65-35. The Hornets have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Haines City's loss came despite strong showings from Keyjuan Odum and Kobe Key. Odum posted eight points and five rebounds, while Key went 5 for 10 en route to 10 points. Another player making a difference was Kanai Washington, who had eight points and three steals.

Discovery got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Darius Livingston out in front who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and three steals. Livingston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Dailey, who scored ten points and five assists.

Haines City's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Discovery, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

Haines City will square off against Auburndale at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Discovery, they will face off against Tampa Prep at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
