Baseball Game Preview: Gorham Rams vs. Massabesic Mustangs

The Gorham Rams will head out on the road to take on the Massabesic Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gorham is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Gorham's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Cheverus 8-0. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Massabesic nor Noble made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights, sneaking past 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Massabesic's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Henry Marcotte, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Marcotte has brought in this season. Trent Tyler was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Gorham's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Massabesic, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Gorham skirted past Massabesic 3-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
