It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Mendon Unity ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Liberty Eagles 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Simon Rabe, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Mendon Unity and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Liberty, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.

Coincidentally, Mendon Unity and Liberty will both be playing Camp Point Central the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
