Basketball Recap: Comer Takes a Loss

Comer lost against Midfield last Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Comer Tigers took a blow against the Midfield Patriots, falling 83-41. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vincent Burrell, who went 8 of 13 en route to 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Burrell has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Comer's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. As for Midfield, they pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Comer has already played their next game (against Childersburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Midfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Wenonah at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
