 San Lorenzo is 1-9 against Encinal since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Wednesday. The San Lorenzo Grizzlies will head out on the road to  square off against  the Encinal Jets at 4:00  p.m.
 San Lorenzo is is headed into Wednesday's   match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game  on Monday. They fell just short of Hayward by a score of  2-1.
  Rogelio Hernandez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. Hernandez was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-3 with a  stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last five times he's  played.
 Hernandez wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Emilio Vazquez, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Even though they lost, San Lorenzo  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hayward struck out nine times.
 Meanwhile, Encinal had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights  and snuck past  12-11. 12 seems to be a good number for Encinal as the  squad scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
  Mateo McMinn looked comfortable as he  pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.
 At the plate, Encinal got a  massive  performance out of  Evan Furuichi, who  scored three  runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Anthony Wilson, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple.
 San Lorenzo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Encinal, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record  this season.
 San Lorenzo suffered a grim  14-2 defeat to Encinal  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023. Can San Lorenzo avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
