Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Keira Riihimaki and Addison Szuta Lead Phelps to Victory

Phelps won the last time they faced Watersmeet and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights came out on top against the Nimrods by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Phelps had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-17.

Leading Phelps to victory were Addison Szuta and Keira Riihimaki. Szuta had seven aces and five digs, while Riihimaki had seven kills, three digs, three blocks, and two aces. What's more, Szuta posted two assists, the most she's had over her last four matches.

They weren't the only good server: Phelps was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 25 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Phelps' win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Watersmeet, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Phelps will be taking part in a tournament against Three Lakes at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Watersmeet, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bessemer at 4:30 p.m.
