Softball Recap: Bellevue's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bellevue ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Columbian Tornadoes 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Redmen: when they faced off against the Tornadoes on April 11th, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Mallory Hay spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Payton Hicks, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Knutti, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Bellevue's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12. As for Columbian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Bellevue didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Clyde on the 1st. As for Columbian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-3 loss against Perkins on the 5th.
