Mount Miguel gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Morse Tigers. This was payback for the Matadors, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mount Miguel had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-16.

Morse's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hailee Divina, who had nine digs and five aces. Divina is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Hailie Bautista was another key player, getting 15 digs and five assists.

Morse dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mount Miguel will welcome Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Morse, they will head out to take on Mar Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
