The Hobart Brickies will venture away from home to challenge the Lowell Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hobart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Hobart came out on top against Hammond Bishop Noll on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Brickies put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Brickies haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Elizabeth Crespo looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Kylie Bulatovich and Hallie Pendelton did most of the damage at the plate: Bulatovich went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Pendelton went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Pendelton a new career-high. Sierra Teel also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Lowell won against Andrean on Monday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Everything went the Red Devils' way against Hanover Central as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Olivia Fuentes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Fuentes was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Peyton Lonardi was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4.
Lowell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanover Central only posted a batting average of .154.
The win made it two in a row for Lowell and bumps their season record up to 4-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Hobart, the win also got them back to even at 4-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Hobart hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lowell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Hobart skirted past Lowell 3-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Brickies repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
