Volleyball Recap: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Lockport Porters
Plainfield East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lockport Porters. If the Bengals were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Porters when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Plainfield East sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 19-25, 25-19.
Drew Miller was the offensive standout of the game as he had 14 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave him a new career-high. Jaydon Lopez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Plainfield East's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lockport, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Coming up, Plainfield East will be playing at home against Minooka at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lockport, they will be taking part in a tournament against Shepard at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
