Basketball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield was the 48-39 winner over Westview when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Fairfield Falcons fell to the Westview Warriors 46-40. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Warriors are ranked 239th).

Westview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bre Cory led the charge by going 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points. JJ Whetstone was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Westview, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Fairfield has already played their next matchup (against Bethany Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Westview will face off against Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
