Basketball Recap: High Island Takes a Loss

High Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Spurger Pirates, falling 76-46. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 80-23 back in January.

High Island's defeat dropped their record down to 4-24. As for Spurger, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Coming up, High Island is taking a road trip to challenge Goodrich at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. High Island is facing Goodrich at the right time seeing as Goodrich is stuck on a 25-game losing streak. As for Spurger, they will host Chester at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
