Basketball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short

Valley and Puxico squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Valley had to settle for second. They were dealt a 74-40 loss at the hands of the Puxico Indians. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The defeat snapped Valley's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-6 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Puxico, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-3.

Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Puxico, they will face off against South Iron on Friday. Puxico knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully South Iron likes a good challenge.
