Basketball Recap: Luke Michael's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sissonville over Hurricane

Sissonville lost against Hurricane back in March of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sissonville Indians fell 70-57 to the Hurricane Redskins.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Michael, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Michael's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Moore, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 19 points.

Hurricane's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson O'Dell, who went 11-for-24 on his way to 25 points and five boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which O'Dell has scored at least a third of Hurricane's points. Jack Willis was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Sissonville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Hurricane, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Sissonville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-52 win against Lincoln County on the 27th. As for Hurricane, they have also already played their next game, a 77-68 victory against Lincoln on the 26th.
