Baseball Recap: Fannett Metal's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Fannett Metal was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Forbes Road last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fannett Metal fell just short of the Northern Bedford County Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The loss was Fannett Metal's first of the season.

Landon Arnold was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Arnold wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Wade Appleby, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fannett Metal fell to 3-1. As for Northern Bedford County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Fannett Metal wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-2 win against Southern Huntingdon County on the 1st. As for Northern Bedford County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 loss against Everett on the 1st.
