Basketball Recap: Shepaug Valley's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to 26

Shepaug Valley extended their postseason success on Monday against Thomaston. They strolled past the Thomaston Bears with points to spare, taking the game 70-51. The win was just business as usual for the Spartans, who after 26 games remain undefeated this season.

Reed Woerner was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 36 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it 25 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was James Kersten, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards.

Shepaug Valley's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-0. As for Thomaston, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-7.

As of now, neither Shepaug Valley nor Thomaston have any future games scheduled.
