Recap: Ada Cougars vs. Jones Longhorns
It was a good run, but the Ada Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jones. While losing is never fun, Ada can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Jones is ranked 33rd).
Ada lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sadie Epps, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Strong, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Ada's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Jones, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Ada and Heritage Hall will face off at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Jones won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Classen SAS on January 20th.
