Softball Recap: Polk County Wildcats vs. McMinn Central Chargers

Zoie Hatcher was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Peyton Williamson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Even though they lost, Polk County was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with five doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McMinn Central only hit a.

On McMinn Central's side, Lauren Peterson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Peterson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Peterson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI.
