Justin-Siena took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Casa Grande, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Braves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Gauchos on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Braves: when they faced off against the Gauchos two weeks ago, they had to take a 10-4 loss.

Griffin Messenger tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Justin-Siena saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braeden Butler, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Butler has posted since back in March.

Justin-Siena is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Casa Grande, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-7.

Coming up, Justin-Siena will face off against Petaluma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Braves 2.8, the Trojans 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Casa Grande does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
