Preview: Litchfield Purple Panthers vs. Civic Memorial Eagles
The Litchfield Purple Panthers will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Civic Memorial Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Litchfield put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Hillsboro 63-32 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Litchfield has posted since December 26, 2023.
Victor Mcgill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Saathoff, who scored six points along with five assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Civic Memorial scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 80-60 margin over Hillsboro. The win made it back-to-back wins for Civic Memorial.
Litchfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Civic Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Litchfield beat Civic Memorial 61-54 in their previous meeting back in January of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for Litchfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
