Volleyball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Sweetwater

Sweetwater hadn't done well against Coronado recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Sweetwater Red Devils walked away with a 3-1 win over the Coronado Islanders. For the Red Devils, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Islanders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The win didn't come easy: Coronado scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 14-25, 25-22.

Jaeden Brown paced Sweetwater's offense, picking up 12 kills. Brown got some help from Sergio Salazar and his 29 assists.

Sweetwater's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Coronado, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sweetwater is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Sweetwater surely won't give up without a fight. As for Coronado, they will square off against Madison at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Coronado is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
