Baseball Recap: Winchester Triumphs

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Winchester nor Arlington made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Red & Black came out on top against the Spy Ponders by a score of 8-4. The win continues a trend for the Red & Black in their matchups with the Spy Ponders: they've now won eight in a row.

Winchester got a great performance from Nick Penicaud as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Penicaud has posted since back in April of 2025.

At the plate, Noah Seitz was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronan O'Connell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Winchester's record now sits at 13-3. As for Arlington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winchester will welcome Burlington at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Arlington, they will be playing at home against Watertown at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something the Spy Ponders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
