After a string of eight wins, Dakota's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pecatonica Indians. While losing is never fun, Dakota can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Pecatonica is ranked 32nd).

Dakota's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-5. As for Pecatonica, the win keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

Dakota will square off against Forreston at 6:45 p.m. on February 14th. Pecatonica has already played their next contest (against Lena-Winslow), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
