Basketball Recap: Barberton Comes Up Short

Barberton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Buckeye Bucks, falling 44-24. The Magics were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bucks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Buckeye can attribute much of their success to Ruby Hudak, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Hudak is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Penny, who posted four points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Barberton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Buckeye, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barberton will welcome Revere at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Buckeye, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky River at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
