Volleyball Recap: Gainesville Takes Down Lecanto in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Gainesville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lecanto Panthers on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Jorryn Dye paced Gainesville's offense, picking up eight kills. Dye got some help from Charlotte Judge and her 18 assists. Kenzie Carter-Mitchell controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Gainesville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Lecanto, the loss snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 15-10 record.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Gainesville and Jensen Beach will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lecanto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
