Basketball Recap: Leake County Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Leake County won the last time they faced Stringer, and Daishone Turner did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Leake County Gators' way against the Stringer Red Devils on Friday as the Leake County Gators made off with a 44-21 victory thanks in part to Turner, who posted 16 points along with six boards and five assists. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 20 times she's played.

Krysten Morgan was another key player, putting up five points in addition to ten steals and six assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

Leake County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Stringer, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-16.

Leake County has already played their next game, a 49-4 win against Mount Olive on the 25th. As for Stringer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-6 defeat against Taylorsville on the 25th.
